My Dream of Peace. Summit of Nobel Peace Prize Laureates. 2015. Barcelona Spain. Friendship Force International. Goodman Community Center Student Art Show. Organized, taught and guided K-5 children to paint and talk about Peace. Of these paintings, 2 students artworks selected for exhibition in Spain , all of these paintings were shown on looped video display at Summit.
Art Cocoon. Goodman Community Center. social emotional, science, math, geography, environmental learning. This art mobile was made from vines and branches and tied together with ribbon. Students K-5 were asked, "What is Home?" Students were asked about examples in nature of homes: nests, hives, beaver dams, trees, burrows, cocoons, ect. Also students were asked about different types of people homes: houses, apartments, huts, igloos, tents, ect... This project teaches the value of a home, family and community. It also teaches that what makes a family is love and respect. It teaches inclusiveness and how to work as a team. Students asked families to bring in a piece of fabric from their home to tie the vines, garland and branches together. For many of the little ones this was their first time tying a bow. After this was completed and hung on display for many months. Students auctioned "The Art Cocoon" to raise money for families in Puerto Rico after a devastating hurricane. Students further learned that what they made together can help other people and communities.

Goodman Community Center, Time Capsel. Students learned about what time is. K-5 students built, assembled, decorated and painted time capsel. Students and community members put many photos, art, letters and objects in the timecapsle to be opened in 35 years.

Commisisoned Mural, "Desert Cactus Patch." This Joyful painting was painted on a 60ft+ stucco dividing wall for a private residence. The mural is a starting point for a renovation project of their back yard.
